back to the remote.
Start with the topics below. If your setup behaves differently, support is one email away.
Purchases
Subscription & restoration
How do I restore my Intellimote Pro purchase?
Open Intellimote → Settings → Intellimote Pro, then choose Restore Purchases. Make sure the device is signed in to the Apple Account that originally purchased the subscription.
Apple manages billing and purchase history. Restoring does not create a new charge.
Where can I manage or cancel my subscription?
On iPhone or iPad, open Settings → your name → Subscriptions, select Intellimote, and use Apple’s subscription controls. You can also manage subscriptions from your account in the App Store.
Deleting Intellimote does not cancel an active subscription.
Local network
Discovery & connection
Why does Intellimote need Local Network access?
Intellimote discovers and controls supported devices directly over your local network. Without this permission, the app cannot search for or communicate with a television, receiver, or speaker.
To review access, open iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network and make sure Intellimote is enabled.
Why is my device not discovered automatically?
- Confirm the Apple device and controlled device are on the same local network.
- Turn off VPN or guest-network isolation while testing.
- Allow Local Network access for Intellimote.
- Wake the television or audio device and verify that network standby or remote start is enabled.
- Restart the app after changing network or device settings.
If discovery still fails, connect manually by IP address.
Can I connect by IP address?
Yes. Choose the manual connection option in the add-device flow and enter the local IP address shown in your television or audio device network settings.
A reserved address in your router can keep that address stable. Do not enter a public internet address; Intellimote is designed for control on your local network.
Television setup
BRAVIA IP control
How do I enable IP control on my BRAVIA?
Menu names vary by television software, but the setting is typically under Settings → Network, Home Network, or IP Control.
- Enable Simple IP Control or the equivalent remote-control setting.
- Enable remote start/network standby if you want Intellimote to wake the television.
- If the television uses a pre-shared key, enter the same key when Intellimote asks for it.
- Return to Intellimote and discover or add the television again.
The TV appears, but commands do not work. What should I check?
Verify that IP control is enabled and that the pairing or pre-shared key matches. If the television displayed an authorization prompt, approve Intellimote. Then remove and re-add the device after changing the TV’s authentication setting.
Can Intellimote power on my TV?
Power-on support depends on the television’s network standby or remote-start capability and network configuration. Enable that setting on the BRAVIA, keep it connected to the network while asleep, and test the power button in Intellimote.
Apple Watch
Controls on your wrist
How does Intellimote on Apple Watch get my devices?
Set up and pair devices in Intellimote on the iPhone first. Device information synchronizes to the companion app when the iPhone and Watch can communicate.
After adding or changing a device, open Intellimote on both devices and allow a moment for synchronization.
What if the Watch app does not show my latest device changes?
Confirm the Watch is paired to the same iPhone, then open Intellimote on the iPhone followed by the Watch. If necessary, close and reopen the Watch app. Also check that Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are enabled and that both devices can communicate.
Network audio
Sony audio, HEOS & MusicCast
Which audio devices does Intellimote support?
Intellimote supports practical controls for selected Sony network audio products, Denon and Marantz devices with HEOS, and Yamaha products with MusicCast. Available sources and controls vary because each device family exposes different capabilities.
Use discovery and the free essential controls to verify your exact device and network before subscribing.
Why are some controls unavailable on my audio device?
Intellimote only presents commands reported or supported by the connected device. Firmware, region, active source, and model capabilities can affect what is available. Updating the device firmware and reconnecting may refresh its capabilities.
Compatibility
Test your setup free
Device families and firmware change over time, so a short model-year catalog is less useful than testing the device you actually own.
Current app requirements
- iPhone and iPad: iOS or iPadOS 18.6 or later.
- Apple Watch companion: watchOS 11 or later, paired with an iPhone running Intellimote.
- Network: the Apple device and controlled device must be reachable on the same local network.
Is my exact device compatible?
Download Intellimote, allow local-network access, and try discovery, connection, and the free essential controls. This is the quickest way to confirm the behavior of your model, firmware, router, and network together — before purchasing Intellimote Pro.
Can support help me test compatibility?
Yes. Compatibility help is free. Email support@dniklewicz.com with the device manufacturer, model number, firmware version, and what happens during discovery or connection. Please do not send passwords or pre-shared keys.
